Matthew Sampson, a U.S. Marine Scout Sniper who has served in the International Legion for over two years, believes that advocating for Ukraine may become easier if Donald Trump returns to power.

During an exclusive interview with Novyny.LIVE, he shared this perspective.

Ukrainians might see renewed hope in a defined timeline to end the war

The U.S. veteran notes that the current U.S. administration focuses on supporting Ukraine, while a potential Trump presidency might prioritize ending the war. These differing goals could influence both policy and public perception.

"Ending hostilities implies setting a specific timeline. Many Ukrainians are exhausted by the constant air raids and the loss of loved ones. A concrete goal to stop the fighting could bring more hope to Ukrainians and the broader region," the volunteer explained.

He emphasized that the war's impact extends beyond Ukraine, affecting international volunteers and countries like South Korea, which face security concerns due to North Korea's involvement.

"Closer ties between North Korea and Russia directly threaten South Korea's national security, illustrating how this war impacts not just Ukraine or Europe, but countries worldwide," Sampson added.

Russia has previously confirmed to Western countries that North Korea is involved in the war in Ukraine, particularly at the reconnaissance level, and that North Korean military forces may directly engage in combat against Ukraine.

Also, the first DPRK troops have already come under fire in the Kursk region of Russia.
